All American – New Jersey.

Under the constant guard of the Statue of Liberty off Jersey City, and home to Ellis Island, New Jersey is rich in America’s past. Nicknamed “Crossroads of the Revolution”, with Morristown serving as George Washington’s winter quarters, New Jersey is also home to Fort Dix.

Atlantic City, the seaside playground and east coast gaming capital, is where the Miss America Pageant was born. As the springtime weather warms, put the Jersey Shore and its 125 miles of beach on your schedule. A trip to Trenton, the capitol city, gives you a look at the New Jersey State House, the second oldest operating capitol in the country.

Stroll through Cape May on Jersey’s South Shore to enjoy the Victorian Architecture – the entire city is a National Historic District. It’s spring break time so a trip to the Wildwoods is in order for some classic beach and boardwalk fun. Enjoy authentic America in New Jersey.

This Essex County tradition features the Cherry Blossom Challenge Bike Race, a 10K run through the cherry groves, a 1-mile fun run for the kids, and a Race for the Disabled. Morristown’s “cold hard winter” as George Washington described it, is past and Morristown National Historical Park is a wonderful place for a hike, horseback ride or bicycle ride. The park has over 20 miles of trails to explore while enjoying a beautiful spring day. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, be sure to go inside the Ford Mansion-Washington‘s Headquarters Museum for a tour.

Music lovers visiting Morristown are sad to know that the city’s Colonial Symphony has closed. The Bickford Theater offers an alternative with its community theater. The 2012 season closes with the Broadway hit “I Do! I Do!” running from April 12th through May 6th.
