Adventure Aquarium
Sea life and wildlife can be seen in a variety of exhibits. Shark Realm, a 40-foot walk-through tunnel, houses more than 20 sharks and 850 other animals. Grounds for Sculpture
The 35-acre sculpture park with two museum buildings is on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds. More than 230 large-scale contemporary sculptures by American and international artists in such media as bronze, wood, stone and steel are displayed outdoors. Various sculptures in flowing and still water are displayed in an enclosed water garden. The park is landscaped with a pond, winding paths, bridges and more than 75 varieties of trees, including cedar, pine, beech, oak and magnolia. The museum buildings showcase changing exhibitions including group and one-person shows, artist-in-residence programs, thematic exhibitions and student displays. Sesame Place
This family theme park based on characters from “Sesame Street” offers more than 50 interactive attractions for ages 2-13. The fun includes more than 3 dozen play activities featuring water-related fun such as Sky Splash; live stage shows, including Big Bird's Beach Party; Rock Around the Block musical parade; Vapor Trail roller coaster; Sesame Street character greetings; and exciting rides at Elmo's World. The Academy of Natural Sciences
The Academy of Natural Sciences is at 19th St. and Benjamin Franklin Pkwy. Founded in 1812, it is the oldest continually operating institution of its kind in America. Outstanding among the natural science exhibits are the children's nature center, Outside-In; and Discovering Dinosaurs, where bones and eggs belonging to prehistoric giants are displayed.
